Photography was a frequent source for Bob’s drawings but it also was an art medium he enjoyed exploring. He often took photographs at the same place many would take a vacation snapshot and came up with an entirely different viewpoint. He photographed the world as he saw it, beauty and flaws alike. His love of pattern is reflected in many of his photographs. Predominantly working in black and white, Bob’s earlier works were all developed in his basement darkroom, hanging on clothesline to dry. When digital photography made experiments in color more accessible, Bob explored its limits as well. He rarely made more than a few copies of any of his photographs and never had his work developed by others. No additional duplication of his digital files will be done.
Each of the available color photographs is a digital print and unless otherwise indicated, the black and white photographs were developed by Bob in his darkroom. Photographs with more than one print made will indicate the number of prints in the edition, if available. All photographs are matted using archival materials.
