Caricatures

Bob was an astute observer of people. He enjoyed watching crowds for faces that caught his eye, quirky fashion statements, and what he referred to as “an interesting look”. He would often fill a page in his sketchbook with a variety of attempts to capture the essence of someone he saw. Most often the drawings would be have a playful feel and would be more caricature than portrait. Bob’s drawings would laugh with the subjects but never at them. He drew how he saw life and included both the beauty and the flaws of his subjects.
